Buyer's Choice Auction has a bid increment. Seller has set a minimum price on each lot. The term "Next Bid" at sale start time will be the seller's minimum price. At that time, Current Bid will be blank. After a bid has been placed and displayed as Current Bid, the Next Bid displayed on the screen is calculated using current bid and the bid increment. The bid increment is $100 up to $2,250. After that, the bid increment will be $250.
There are 2 types of bidding on Buyer's Choice.
Big Board is "where the action is" on the Buyer's Choice Auction website. All lots are listed here in numerical order by Lot# with Current Bid, Current Bidder # and Next Bid. Clicking on any field in a particular lot #'s box will bring up detail information about the animal and allows the user to place a manual bid (after start time) or proxy bid. (Anytime). When a bid is placed (after start time), the Big Board screen will highlight that particular lot. The lot will stay highlighted for a brief period of time. The Next Bid field is the minimum that a bidder can currently bid. Next Bid amount at start time is the seller's reserve price. Next Bid amount after a bid has been placed is Current Bid plus bid increment.
· Buyer can bid on his choices.
· Buyer does not have to deal with the seller’s order of sale because all lots are offered and bid on simultaneously.
· The buyer has the choice to switch to any other lot in the offering if he is outbid on his current choice.
· This method gives the buyer true choices and more time to make decisions.
· The buyer should have “no regrets” when the auction is complete. This results in higher buyer satisfaction.
· Bidding is very simple and clear.
· The auction-end “extended time” feature gives buyers ample time to make a purchasing decision.·
DELIVERY OF LOTS: TO BE DETERMINED PRIOR TO THE AUCTION! **Please call Chuck Olsen (605-661-7864) to discuss any delivery options that might work for you. Buyer’s Choice Online Auction is a NEW approach to online auctions.
It includes all the features we’ve come to expect with online auctions but adds several NEW FEATURES.
· Buyer has the CHOICE to switch to any lot in the offering if he is outbid.
· Buyer has the CHOICE of bidding live online (including proxy (maximum price) bidding) or manual bidding or telephone bidding.
· Buyer can make the CHOICE to setup his own personalized “watch list” with the click of a button.
· Buyer has the CHOICE of watching the entire auction on a “big board” format or, with a click of a button, seeing just his “watch list” on the “big board”.
· These CHOICES are possible because all lots are offered and bid on simultaneously.
We have an exciting new feature of Buyer's Choice Auction Software COMING SOON! PROXY PLUS bidding.
My ProxyPlus Tickets allows you, the bidder, to determine:
The computer does the rest automatically. (After you’ve completed and sent your first ProxyPlus ticket, you may add additional tickets, if you desire.) You can edit or delete your ProxyPlus Ticket until the sale actually starts. Then your bids are binding. If you submit a ProxyPlus Ticket after the sale has started, your bids are binding.
Example: Joe would be willing to purchase any of 5 lots but he only wants 2. He creates the following ProxyPlus ticket:
| : | # of Lots Desired: | 2 |
| Priority | Lot# | Max Price |
| 1 | 39 | $ 2,000 |
| 2 | 22 | $ 1,750 |
| 3 | 16 | $ 1,500 |
| 4 | 2 | $ 1,250 |
| 5 | 6 | $ 1,250 |
Joe submits his ProxyPlus ticket and the computer immediately starts to find Joe 2 lots.
The current bid for Joe’s 1st choice, Lot#39 is $600 (bid increment is $50). The computer will then put in a bid for Joe of $650. (By the end of the auction, there have been several other bids but Joe does win this lot for $950)
Concurrently, the bid on Joe’s 2nd choice, Lot#22, is $2,000 so computer can’t put in a bid for Joe on this lot. The computer moves on to choice 3, Lot#16 which is currently selling for $800. The computer puts in a bid for Joe for $850. (At auction end, there have been no other bids on this lot so Joe buys the lot for $850.)
With each bred female, we GUARANTEE a minimum of eight pigs born alive. If a litter is born and this minimum is not met, you will receive credit towards future purchases of breeding stock, showpigs, or semen. Here is how the amount of credit is determined: the bred female is valued at 60% of the pruchase price and the litter she is carrying as 40%. so, if you pruchase a female for $1,000 and she has 6 pigs born alive, the amount of credit is $100.
HEALTH PAPERS: Furnished upon request for each individual lot. Special testing or export health testing will be at the buyers expense.
REGISTRATION PAPERS: Transfered to the new owner at the sellers expense after payment. Please register for a bid number exactly the way you want the pedigree transfered. The transfer of all pedigrees is the responsibility of the seller to the buyer. Buyer's Choice Auction does not assume any responsibility or liability in the proper transfer of registration papers.
PAYMENT: There will be NO buyer's premium added to the final sale price. All bidding and payments are in US Dollars. Accepted payment forms are: credit card (Visa, Mastercard, and Discover) with 3% service fee added, or cashiers check or personal check. Checks should be made payable to Olsen Yorkshires. Cashiers Check or personal check must be immediately sent to Olsen Yorkshires, 451st Avenue, Irene, SD 57037. Full payment including the 3% Credit Card service fee, if applicable, must be received in 4 business days from the close of bidding.
INVOICING: An invoice with payment instructions including the 3% credit card fee, if applicable will be sent to each buyer's registered e-mail address at the close of bidding. If you do not receive an e-mail invoice in 12 hours after the close of bidding please contact our office. Please be aware at the conclusion of the auction the realized bid prices are posted with the winning buyer number. This amount does not include the 3% credit card processing fee, if applicable that will be added to the final bid price and sent to your registered e-mail address and shown on your invoice. Payment in full, is expected immediately after the auction and before any livestock or merchandise is exchanged. Failure to complete the payment terms as stated above will result in forfeiture of animals purchased, legal action, and negative feedback reported to the credit bureau. Be sure you are capable of paying immediately and realize your bids are not conditional upon financing. Seller reserves the right to charge the entire purchase price and credit card processing fee to the credit card on file if payment is not made in 4 days after the close of bidding. All bids placed at or above the starting bids will be sold to the highest bidder!
Proxy bidding is the highest dollar amount that you are willing to pay for a lot. It is sometimes called Maximum Bid or Absentee Bid. All names are appropriate. This allows you, the bidder, to enter the maximum amount you would pay for a particular lot but the computer actually does the bidding for you. You can be assured that your Proxy bid is confidential. It is definitely NOT visible to the seller. It ONLY appears on computer screens that are logged in with your username and password.
EXAMPLE: You are bidder# 85. Max $ you would pay for Lot# 5 is $1,500 so you enter a Proxy Bid on Lot# 5 for $1,500. CurrentBid is $800. NextBid is $900. (Bid increment is $100). The computer begins bidding for you at $900. Bidder#88 puts in a bid for $1,000. The computer automatically bids for you again for $1,100. There were no other bids and you win the bid for $1,100.
